Record a SIU strength and risk/safety assessment
The SIU strength and risk/safety assessment documents the risks and strengths for alleged child victims and alleged perpetrators. Based on the assessment, you select an overall assessment for the participants. See About assessments for more information.
Follow these steps to record a SIU strength and risk safety assessment.
From the Home screen, click the Case tab. The Case Workload screen appears.
Click the ID number link of the case you want to update. The Case Overview screen appears.
Click the Investigations Linked link in the link menu. The Investigations Linked screen appears.
Click an investigation ID link. The Investigation screen Overview tab appears.
Click the Investigation Topics tab.
Under Topic, click the SIU - Strength and Risk/Safety Assessment link. The Strength and Risk/Safety Assessment (SIU) screen appears.
Enter the date of the assessment.
Select the decisions influenced by this assessment.
Click Add Child to add children to the assessment. In the Available Investigation Participants screen, select the check boxes for each child in the investigation. Click Save to return to the Strength and Risk/Safety Assessment (SIU) screen.
Click the select link for the child you added. On the Child Functioning Details screen, indicate whether the factors are risks or strengths for the child. Click Save to return to the Strength and Risk/Safety Assessment (SIU) screen.
Click Add Adult to add adult caregivers to the assessment. In the Available Investigation Participants screen, select the check boxes for each adult in the investigation. Click Save to return to the Strength and Risk/Safety Assessment (SIU) screen..
Click the select link for the adult you added. On the Caregiver Factors screen, indicate whether the factors are risks or strengths for the adult. Click Save to return to the Strength and Risk/Safety Assessment (SIU) screen.
Under Family/Environmental Factors, indicate whether these factors are risks or strengths for the case.
Under Service Provision Factors, indicate whether these factors are risks or strengths for the case.
Select the overall risk assessment.
Enter additional comments if necessary.
When the assessment is complete and ready for supervisor review, click Approval.
