Record an extension request

Follow these steps to record an extension request for an investigation.

  1. On the Home Workload screen, select an Ongoing Case.  The Case Overview screen appears.

  2. Click Investigations Linked in the blue left navigation bar. The Investigations Linked screen appears.

  3. Click the investigation ID link for the investigation you want to update. The Investigation screen Overview tab appears.

  4. Click the Investigation Topics tab.

  5. Under Topics, click the Extension Requests link. The Extension Requests screen appears.

  6. Click Add Extension Request. The Extension Request Details screen appears.

  7. Enter the Requested Closure date.

  8. In the Reason for Extension field, enter a detailed description for the request.

  9. Click Approval if the request is ready for review by the team leader.   

  10. If the request is not ready, click Save. You can return to this request later to finish it. The Investigation Extension Requests screen appears.
