Locate CPS Intakes and Investigations after Linking

A CPS Intake is listed on the Home Workload screen of the worker to whom it is assigned until it is linked to a CPS Investigation case. At that time it becomes part of the CPS Investigation Case and ceases to be listed on the Home Workload screen. A CPS Investigation Case is listed on the Home Workload screen of the worker to whom it is assigned until it gets linked to a Family Case. At that time it becomes part of the Family Case and ceases to be listed on the Home Workload screen.
When a CPS Intake gets linked to a CPS Investigation case (that is not linked to an Ongoing Family case), the CPS Intake ceases to be on the Intake worker's Home Workload page. The CPS Intake can be located from (1) the Intake Search page, (2) Person Search and TFACTS History pages and (3) the Investigation case it is linked to.
Click the search link at the top of the page. The Person Search screen displays.
Click the Intake Search tab. The Intake Search screen displays.
Enter search criteria and click Search. The Search Results display.
Select a CPS Intake from the Results list based on the Intake Date, Name, Type, Track, Case ID, Case Name and/or the County of Jurisdiction. Narrow the results down by filtering on Category = CPS and Intake Type = CPS. Also filter on Date Received.
On your Home workload page locate and select a CPS Case by scrolling or filtering. The Investigation Overview screen appears.
Click the Investigation Topics tab. The Investigation Topics screen displays.
Click the Linked Intakes link. The Linked Intakes List screen displays.
Click the Intake ID. The Intake Basic screen appears with Intake details.
When a CPS Investigation case gets linked to an Ongoing Family Case, the CPS Investigation Case ceases to be listed on the Home Workload screen of the person to whom the investigation was assigned. The CPS Investigation case can still be located from (1) the Case Search page, (2) Person Search page, (3) TFACTS History page, and (3) the Ongoing Family case the CPS Investigation case is linked to.

Scenario: The CPS Case is not assigned to you or your staff and you do not know the CPS Case ID number but you know the Case Name and some other information.
Use the search link at the top of the page to locate the Intake.
Click the search link at the top of the page. The Person Search screen displays.
Click the Intake Search tab. The Intake Search screen displays.
Enter Search criteria and click Search. The Search Results displays.
Select a CPS Intake from the Results list based on the Intake Date, the Intake Name, the Intake Status, the Intake Type and Track, the Case ID, the Case Name, and the County of Jurisdiction. Filter on Date Received, Intake Category = CPS, Intake Type = CPS, and Intake Status = Linked.

Scenario: A CPS Investigation Case has been linked to an Ongoing Family Case and the Ongoing Family Case is assigned to you or one of your staff.
Note: When a CPS Investigation Case gets linked to an Ongoing Family Case, the CPS Investigation Case ceases to be listed on the Home Workload screen of the person to whom the investigation was assigned.
On your TFACTS Home Workload page, select the Ongoing Family Case that the Investigation Case is linked to. The Case Overview screen displays.
Click the Investigations Linked link in the blue left navigation bar. The Investigations Linked screen displays.
Click an Investigation ID and the Investigation Overview screen displays.
To see the CPS Intake:
On the Investigation Overview page, click the Investigation Topics tab. The Investigation Topics screen displays.
Click the Linked Intakes link. The Linked Intakes List screen displays.
Click the Intake ID. The Intake Basic information screen appears with Intake details
Scenario: The CPS Case is not assigned to you or your staff and you do not know the CPS Case ID number but you know the child’s name.
Note: When a CPS Intake gets linked to an Investigation Case, the CPS Intake ceases to be on the Intake worker’s Home Workload page.
Click the search link at top of page. The Persons Search screen appears.
Enter the child’s last name and first name and click Search. The search results are listed.
Select a person. The Person Home Page displays.
Click TFACTS History. The TFACTS History screen appears listing Intake History and Investigation History (with the number of Intakes and Investigations in parenthesis).
Expand Intake History. If the number in parenthesis is greater than zero, the CPS Intakes will list.
Click an Intake ID. The Basic Intake screen appears. Note: When a CPS Investigation Case gets linked to a Family Case, the CPS Investigation case ceases to be listed on the Home Workload page.
On the TFACTS History screen, expand Investigation History and if the number in parenthesis is greater than zero, the Investigation Cases will list.
Click an Investigation ID and the Investigation Overview screen will appear.
