Predisposition Report

The Predisposition Report is ordered by the court prior to the final disposition of a delinquency case.

The Predisposition Report helps the court to make an informed disposition for a delinquency case. The report contains all the pertinent information that can be obtained about the youth, family, and the community in which they live. It includes an assessment of the youth’s needs and recommendations as to intervention, disposition alternatives, programs, or placements.  The Predisposition Report includes descriptions of the current problems and the youth’s family background, strengths and weaknesses of the youth and family.

According to DCS policy, all Predisposition Reports must provide dispositional alternatives for the court’s consideration.  Each Predisposition Report is reviewed and approved by a supervisor.
