Authorize case services

Case services are recorded when workers identify the family's needs during the life of a case. Paid services, which are completed separately for each person in the case, must be authorized. The service must be in "Provided" status before it can be authorized.

Follow these steps to authorize case services:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Case tab. The Case Workload screen appears.

  2. Open the list of cases by clicking next to your name. The list of your assigned cases appears.

  3. Click the ID number of the case you want to authorize. The Case Overview screen appears.

  4. Click Case Services in the link menu. The Case Services list screen appears.

  5. Filter the list of services, if necessary.

  6. Click authorization for the service you want authorize.

    The system displays the current service authorization record if one exists. If one does not exist, the system creates a "Pending" service authorization record with the most recent service begin date. When the linked service authorization record is approved, the placement record is frozen. You can, however, modify begin date.
