Change the legal status for a child
If you are changing the legal status from temporary custody to permanent custody, you do not terminate the legal status record. Instead, you change the legal status type.
Follow these steps to change the legal status for a child.
From the Home screen, click the Case tab. The Case Workload screen appears.
Click the case ID number link of the case you want to view. The Case Overview screen appears.
Click Court in the link menu. The Case Members Legal History screen appears. The case members who have a legal status record or a court action record appear in the grid.
Click the Legal Status link for a case member in the grid. The Child Legal Status History screen appears. This screen displays the legal status records entered for the child.
Click the select link for the legal status record you want to modify. The Child Legal Status Details screen appears.
Select the new status in the Legal Status list.
Enter the new effective date in the Effective Date box.
Complete other fields on this screen as appropriate.
Click Save. You are returned to the Child Legal Status History screen
