Submit a work item for review and approval

Follow these steps to submit a work item for review and approval.  

  1. On the work item screen, click Approval. The Process Approvals screen appears.

  2. In the Action list, select Route.

  3. (Optional) Select the Immediate check box if you want the system to notify the reviewer or approver with an alert for this task.

  4. (Optional) Enter comments about the work item.

  5. Review the default organization, team, and reviewer/approver details. Change any selections if the defaults are not correct.

  6. Click Save. You are returned to the screen where you initiated the work item approval.

    The system displays the approval request on the Pending Approvals screen for the selected reviewer or approver. If the item was set to Immediate, the system also sends a notification to the selected reviewer or approver.

    You can view the progress and history of the routing and approvals on the Process Approvals screen.
