Record a violation for a youth

Members of the DCS Legal department can record legal comments and recommendations for the violation.

Follow these steps to record a violation for a youth.

  1. In the Home screen, click the Case tab. The Case Workload screen appears.

  2. 2. Click the case ID number link for the case you want to view. The Case Overview screen appears.

  3. Click Delinquency Information in the link menu. The Delinquency Information screen screen appears.

  4. Click the Violation report link for the case participant. The Violation Report History screen appears.

  5. Click Add Violation to record a violation the youth has committed. The Violation Report Details screen appears.

  6. Enter status information into these fields:

    Current Status
    Status Begin Date
    Type
      

  7. In the From Date field, enter the date when the violation occurred.

  8. In the Available Violations field, select one or more violations and click Add> to move them to the Selected Violations field.

  9. If necessary, you can describe additional details for the violations and any prior supervision the youth has been under.

  10. In the Available Actions field, select one or more actions and click Add> to move them to the Selected Actions field.

  11. If necessary, you can describe additional details for the actions taken by the Department.

  12. Click the DCS Legal Comments link to record comments and recommendations for this violation, if you are legal staff. After you enter your comments, click Save to return to the Violation Report Details screen.

    Other users can click this link to view the legal comments. After viewing, click Cancel to return to the Violation Report Details screen.

  13. If this violation record is complete, click Approval to submit the record to your supervisor. You are returned to the Violation Report History screen.
