Determine initial reimbursability for IV-E FCM
The Department is generally reimbursed for payments made during a placement episode for a child who is deemed eligible and reimbursable for IV-E FCM. When the eligibility determination record is in "Complete" status, the system automatically creates an initial reimbursability record. This record appears on the Eligibility/Reimbursability history screen with a "Pending" status. You then determine the initial reimbursability for the client.
Follow these steps to determine initial reimbursability for a IV-E eligible child in foster care.
From the Home screen, click Financial > Eligibility. The Child Selection screen appears.
Click Person Search, then locate and select the child whose reimbursability you want to determine. After you select the child, the screen displays the eligibility and reimbursability records for the child.
In the Reimbursability grid, click select for the reimbursability record you want to complete. The Initial Reimbursability screen appears.
View the details in each section of the screen.
(Optional) Click the [name] link to view or update eligibility details for the child. The Person Profile screen appears.
Enter the Effective Date for the initial reimbursability.
Click Determine Reimbursability. The system processes the reimbursability rules, then displays the result.
(Optional) Complete the details in the Concurrent Eligibility for SSI section. Click the Concurrent SSI/Title IV-E Checklist link to record a checklist for this reimbursability.
Click Save to accept this determination.
In the confirmation message, click OK. The system locks the record and prevents further updates. You are returned to the Eligibility/Reimbursability History screen. In the Reimbursability grid, the record shows "Completed" in the Status column and "Yes" or "No" in the Determination column.
