Record an investigation

Process Overview

This process describes how to record an investigation for a CPS intake. At a minimum, you establish the investigation participants and classify the allegations. After these two parts are complete, you can link the investigation to a case.

Follow these steps to record an investigation for a CPS intake.  

  1. On the Home Workload screen Select an Ongoing case. The Case Overview screen appears.

  2. Click Investigations Linked in the blue left navigation bar. The Investigations Linked screen appears with a list of Investigations.

  3. Click an Investigation ID link. The Investigation Overview screen appears.

    Click the link in step 6 or click Next Task> below to continue.

  4. Record and establish the participants in an investigation.

  5. Record and classify allegations.

  6. Link an investigation to a case.
