Record an adoption case

When the Department is given permanent custody of a child, you can create an adoption case for the child and begin recording the details of the adoption process. When you create an adoption case, the system removes the child from the original family case and copies certain information from the family case to the new adoption case. Process Overview

Follow these steps to record a new adoption case.

  1. Create a new adoption case.

  2. Record recruitment activities for an adoption case.  

  3. Initiate the adoption referral for AdoptUSKids.    

  4. View the results of putative father search.

  5. Record putative father search details for an adopted child.

  6. Record out-of-state adoption details, if appropriate.
