Record a resource home study

After a resource home is linked to a resource inquiry, or a new resource home is created for an inquiry, you can complete the home study for that resource home.

Through the home study process, a resource completes several tasks to become approved or certified by the private provider. You can complete the required tasks in any order, as circumstances allow, before the home study is validated and approved. After the resource home is approved, it can receive child placements.

Process Overview

Record a new home study record as follows:

1. From the Home screen, click the Resource tab. The Resource Home Workload screen appears.

2. Click next to your name or click your name link. The system displays your assigned resources.

3. Click select for the resource you want to update. The Resource Overview screen appears.

4. Click Home Study in the link menu. The Maintain Home Study History screen appears.

5. To create an initial home study record, click Add Home Study. The Home Study Details screen appears.

6. In the Home Study Type field, select the type of study you are recording and complete the applicable fields on the screen.  

7. Click Link Child if you want to add any children to the Special Children of Interest list.
   
   After you select a child, complete the Specific Child of Interest screen , and click Save. You are returned to the Home Study Details screen.

8. Click Save.
   
   If you selected ICPC outgoing as the type of home study, the ICPC Outgoing screen appears. Complete the details for the ICPC outgoing record and then continue with step 8 below.
   
   If you selected another type of home study, the Home Study Topics screen appears.

9. On the Home Study Topics screen, you record the details for the home study in any order based on your work.

   • Review or update resource information.

   • Record home study verifications.

   • Record a safety audit.

   • Record home study references.   

   • Record a home description.   

   • Link the completed training courses.  

   • Review or update child acceptance criteria.    

   • Record the SAFE family narratives.    

   • Record psychosocial information    

10. After all the topics show "Complete" status in the grid, click the Submit for Approval button. The system notifies the team leader to review the home study and enter the disposition. See Record the disposition of the home study.
